Business Self-Diagnosis and Service Route Platform at APC-Colombia

Business Self-Diagnosis and Service Route Platform at APC-Colombia

APC-Colombia relied on disconnected and largely manual processes to identify and address business needs. Information was dispersed across Excel files, with no centralized platform to support diagnostics, service tracking, or personalized interventions. This limited institutional reach, reduced operational efficiency, and led to missed opportunities to support businesses effectively.

BENEFITS

  • 70% reduction in business diagnostic time.
  • 200% increase in companies served per month.
  • 80% improvement in user satisfaction.
  • 50% lower operating costs for Chambers of Commerce.
  • Successfully implemented in 8 Mesoamerican countries, including El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Belize, and the Dominican Republic.

Root Causes

These challenges were driven by the lack of integration between internal processes and external public institutions, the absence of digital tools enabling entrepreneurs to assess their needs autonomously, and the lack of structured service routes, follow-up mechanisms, user personalization, and business intelligence capabilities to proactively identify opportunities.

Solution

A comprehensive digital platform was developed based on the transfer and adaptation of the MISE methodology from the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. The solution included a full-featured web platform with modules for user registration, self-diagnosis, service catalog management, personalized service routes, and monitoring. Tailored intervention paths were generated based on diagnostic results, supported by secure, standards-based APIs to enable integration with other institutional systems and ensure scalability.
